Indian Canyon Golf Course

Indian Canyon Golf Course was designed in 1930, but a slow approach and working on the steep cliffs for which it is named kept workers from completion for five years. Now, the course is thought of as one of the top 25 public golf courses in the U.S. and has hosted some big name tournaments over the years. As the name suggests, the course is built on a canyon wall lending to a very hilly 18 holes. The course is definitely not for the faint of heart and beginning golfers are a rare breed to be seen on this green. The course stretches a nice 6,255 yards and most of the holes are straight, but the greens are small, elevated, and riddled with bunkers. The course also boasts a restaurant and offers lessons.

Monday through Thursday, tee times are after 2 p.m. but if you need to make a time before that reservations need to be made. On these days it’s $27 for 18 holes and $20 for 9. During Fridays, weekends and holidays, you should make reservations at least 8 days in advance and the price is $29 for 18 holes and $29 for 9 holes. Junior rates Monday through Thursday are $12 and Friday through Sunday and holidays are $22. If you play a lot of golf in the Spokane area you should buy a membership card. Its $35 and it comes with discounts for every Spokane Parks and Recreation golf course. To book tee times, view a list of events and a map of the course, etc. visit www.golfindiancanyon.org.
